Workload License Charges Seminar Syllabus

What You'll Learn in Three Days!

This 3 day seminar will give you the essential knowledge you need to implement and leverage IBM’s Workload License Charges, and PR/SM’s Intelligent Resource Director. The seminar will help you answer these questions about WLC and IRD with respect to your installation:

  • How can software costs be lowered with IBM's new WLC pricing model and its capabilities maximized?
  • How will LPAR Clusters and the Intelligent Resource Director (IRD), in conjunction with WLC, allow installations to meet workload goals and service levels more effectively and more efficiently?
  • How does WLC handle dynamic workload peaks while still ensuring optimal workload performance? What if the workload peaks are two, five or ten times greater than normal usage?
  • Should IPLA products be switched to zSeries sub-capacity pricing?
  • What are the Sub-Capacity Reporting Tool, the WLC Tool and the Sub-Capacity Planning Tool?
  • What other tools are available?

Attendees should bring data from their site to the seminar. During the seminar some examples will be more meaningful to you if you can refer to your own site's information. If you have questions you can ask them during the class, privately during breaks or at the end of the day. You should bring a list of your installed software, and the output from the IBM Sub-Capacity Report Tool or the IBM Sub-Capacity Planning Tool. Information on using these tools will be emailed after registration in the seminar.
