Al Sherkow's
IBM Workload License Charges Seminar
November 12-14, 2007 in Frankfurt, Germany (Kelsterbach) Postponed due to low enrollment, the next seminar will probably be in Frankfurt, Germany (Kelsterbach) during February or March 2008
Everything you need to know about Workload License Charges and
IRD is included in this unique 3-day seminar. The seminar is based on
WLC consulting projects with IBM and other clients since March, 2000. Sub-capacity pricing
in the mainframe marketplace including IBM's Workload License
Charges, IBM's Entry Workload License Charges and similar offerings
from ISVs will be covered. Information has also been included from working with LCS customers helping them audit SCRT and tuning their environments by balancing technical issues with pricing issues. Actual customer analysis of the Workload License Charges versus
previous charging techniques are included. The seminar will help you better understand
your IBM software charges and the many pricing alternatives IBM
provides. This is the only training available seminar is appropriate for any site using zSeries
machines and z/OS, or planning to
use zSeries and z/OS.
Sites considering WLC will gain from having an independent expert review their situation and will learn how to leverage WLC. For sites already using
Workload License Charges the optimization and tuning techniques will help these sites further reduce their software charges; in some months thousands or tens of thousands of dollars are saved! Many attendees have reported the full cost of the seminar was recovered
with their next month's Reduced SCRT Report MSUs!
This 3-day seminar will give you the essential knowledge you need to implement and leverage IBM’s Workload License Charges, and PR/SM’s Intelligent Resource Director. Please see the syllabus for a detailed outline.
